
The University of Algarve in Faro, Portugal, and the International Centre for Coastal Ecohydrology, u/a UNESCO organized a SUMMER COURSE on Ecohydrology, from 18th July until 10th August 2011.
The course included the following modules:
a) 18-22 July - Field and laboratory techniques in Ecohydrology (Prof. Luis Chícharo, Dr. Pedro Range, Dr. Francisco Leitão, Dr. David Piló, Dra. Sarita Encarnação)
b) 25-27 July - River Ecosystem Restoration (Prof. Rui Cortes, Dra. Samatha Hughes and Profª Simone Varandas – UTAD - University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro)
c) 28-30 July - Eutrophication Impact in marine Biodiversity (Profª. Alice Newton, LOICZ, UALG)
d) 1-5 August - Implementation of large scale projects and strategic planning (Profª Iwona Wagner, Univ. Lodz, ERCE-UNESCO, Poland)
e) 8-10 August - Global Ecohydrology action – Profª. Susana Neto (Univ. Técnica de Lisboa) and Prof. Jeff Camkin (Centre of Excellence for Ecohydrology, Univ. of Western Australia)
A total of 10 ECTS were granted to the students participating in this Summer Course.
